Forest Felines is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization. We do not euthanize for space or temperament. Our mission is to help our community collaborate with cats in an effort to create a working partnership. Through education, spay/neuter programs, and adoption we strive to end unwanted cats by forging a different view; alliance.
We are a working group of like-minded community members in Cass County, Minnesota advocating for homeless cats. We provide our communities with Trap-Neuter-Return services (TNR), cat care resources, spay/neuter resources, education of free-range cats and kittens, and provide adoptable cats through our Business Cat and Couch Cat programs.
Forest Felines rescue work is primarily limited to homeless cats located in our communities.
Only cats that face a life vs death situation will be adopted out through our adoption programs. We do not euthanize for space or temperament. This means we can help cats in our community as long as we have the space to do so.
Our adoption programs are for cats that have no home, that cannot be cared for through any other means; we are their last chance at survival.
Our Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program is the most effective, humane method for managing our community cat populations. TNR work involves trapping, vaccinating, sterilizing (spay/neuter), ear-tipping for identification, and returning cats to their original territory. It stops breeding and stabilizes populations.
By providing resources and educating our Community about Free-Roaming cats, we hope to terminate "catch and kill" operations, end overpopulation, stop unwanted litters, and help our community see cats as allies.
Our adoption programs are for cats that have no home, that cannot be cared for through any other means; we are their last chance at survival. We offer two adoption programs:
-Business Cat Adoptions (outside working cats)
-Couch Cat Adoptions (Indoor/outdoor working cats or indoor only cats)
Forest Felines offers three foster programs in our Community.
-Colony Cat Caregiver Fosters
-Business Cat Program Fosters
-Couch Cat Program Fosters
